Another beautiful vintage Gibson ES-335 just arrived at the shop and it's a one of a kind tone monster! Let's just start by saying that one of our tone obsessed customer's took a good guitar and turned it into a special guitar. This rare Gibson Custom Shop blonde 335 has the look of a guitar 30 years older with its authentic color. We love vibey guitars here at the shop and this one has it. So onto the mods that transformed an ok sounding around. I know people love the Tim Shaw era Gibson humbuckers but the set and harness originally in this guitar just didn't sound good. The new harness is an RS Guitar Works full Deluxe ES335 harness that opens the tone right up. Then a NOS Gibson 1971 T-Top pickup was added to the bridge and a Throbak Peter Green neck pickup was added. The PG is wound normally. The cover on the PG is an older Gibson cover from the 60's. Together with the harness this guitar sounds like the real deal. Imagine a wet blanket taken off the guitar tonally. The ABR bridge and tail piece were replaced with Cream Tone upgrades but the original heavy parts are included. The tuners were replaced years ago with vintage Grover tuners which have a nice patina to them. The original pickups and harness are not included in the sale. Don't wait long on this one as it won't last long in the shop. All the heavy lifting has been done on this one now it's time to just plug in and play! She ships in her original hardshell case.
