This 2008 Les Paul Custom Hot Rod 58 is a 150-piece worldwide limited edition commissioned for Hot Rod Magazine's 50th Anniversary, with 75 allocated to the USA (this example) and 75 to the rest of the world. Built at Gibson Custom, it pairs a one-piece mahogany neck with a non–weight-relieved mahogany body topped with flame maple and a holly headstock veneer, finished in Cherry Red with translucent "ghost" flame top figuring. The neck features an early‑'50s rounded carve over a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, acrylic trapezoid inlays and single‑ply cream binding; scale length is the classic 24.75".

Electrically and mechanically it’s spec’d to vintage standards: 57 Classic humbuckers with heat‑oxidized covers, ABR‑1 bridge with stopbar tailpiece, vintage tulip tuners and nickel hardware. Controls are traditional Gibson 2‑volume, 2‑tone and a 3‑way switch. This example is barely played and ships with the original Gibson Custom case and all factory accessories, retaining its anniversary provenance and serial number CS85552
