Here's the second Tom Murphy aged True Historic '60 burst into the shop in recent weeks and its a stunner. In 2015 Gibson would launch the True Historic series and the guitars received all new plastic components, top carve, aniline dyes, and hide glue construction. Due to the aniline cherry red dye back color there is some slight binding bleeding which you see on all of these True Historic models. This 2016 model year guitar is even rarer with the aging being done by the master Tom Murphy. If you're a student of real bursts you'll notice that this guitar is a transitional model as it sports the '59 vintage cherry sunburst color, '59 knobs and the largest of the three neck carves Gibson used in 1960 on the Les Paul. It's been rumored that the long lost Les Paul that Clapton used on the Beano album was this very model. All case candy and COA are included. You'll notice a typo on the COA where it has the correct serial number but is listed as a '59 not '60 Murphy aged. We're working on getting a corrected one.
Please note, this early in this run for Gibson, the case is not aged.
