The Carr Telstar 1x12 Combo in Brown Gator is a compact, hand-wired tube amplifier that merges the sonic qualities of a 6L6-style 5881 tube and an EL84 tube in a unique push-pull output stage. This combination results in a broad tonal palette that blends the solid low-end and control of the 5881 with the complex, overtone-rich shimmer of the EL84. The amp features a Lean/Lush switch for tailoring tone body and a 53/58 switch that adjusts gain structure and the frequency emphasis of the Tone control, enabling players to achieve a wide range of sounds, from tweedy and Marshally to blackface-style tones. The built-in attenuator allows power output adjustment from 16 watts down to 0 watts, making it versatile for home, club, and studio use.

Constructed with Carr’s renowned hand-wired, point-to-point circuitry, the Telstar uses high-quality Satellite-grade power components and vintage-style signal elements. The amplifier is housed in a resonant ultra-ply cabinet with a stressed member speaker baffle designed for optimal tonal character. The 1x12" speaker is complemented by a lush, tube-driven long spring reverb, adding a three-dimensional quality to the sound. The 5881 tube can be swapped with other octal types like 6L6, EL34, or 6V6, enhancing tonal flexibility. This particular example features a custom Brown Gator covering, a mint faceplate, and upgraded cream knobs, and is noted for its excellent condition and low hours.
